I am..... Elated! Thi is my first nesting season and up to know have had absoloutely NO activity aroung ANY of my nest boxes! But over the last three days I have had blue tits sitting quite close to my box outside of my front door which I nicknamed 'greeny' because of its almost luminicent Green sides and metal roof.
Obviously they are checking out this box because when i put it up I said to myself ' Sam!, why are you putting this here, nothing is going to use it!' But they have been sitting in a garden belonging to the
'North of England Homing Union' and keep flying to the box, back to the garden and vice versa.
The most I have seen at 1 time in the garden is 5! I hardly ever used to get blue tits but now there is hardly a moment where there isnt a blue tit either in the front or back garden!

Birding , Birding, Birding !
Fantastic news Sam, hope it's the start of things to come. It would be lovely if they actually take to the nest and you get to see the little ones.
Best of luck to you!
Regards
Kerry

Hi Sam, sounds as if you could be seeing some nesting blue tits this year. I do hope so.
Thank you all for your nice comments!

How exciting for you, Sam! It's always a joy when a pair of birds picks your own garden as the best place to raise their family. Do please keep us informed of any developments!
Thankyou all,
I most definately will keep you informed.
That's great news Sam, I do hope they decide to nest in your box and I am looking forward to your updates.
The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!
I am upset,
The same blue tits who were investigatin my boxes are now bringing nesting material into across the roads box about every 10mins.
