I would observe and go into the attic and have a look
If bats are in there I can't see a problem as there droppings won't affect anything and would be quiet.
Bats are also protected as are birds
you say you have seen birds entering and sounds like house sparrows to me, starling is another contender and are very noisy
None of these birds nest all year round but may roost in winter
the only thing you can do is block up the holes after the nesting season and maybe put a couple of nest boxes up
