Killer Blue Tits?

We have a nest box with camera at school and we've been excited to follow the pair of Blue Tits as they built their nest and laid 10 eggs. The first one hatched this morning, followed by another 3 but despite being fed, they have disappeared 1 by 1. I happened to be watching the live feed and saw one being picked up, wriggling away and taken off! Another hatched, was fed and after an hour or so and despite being quite active and fed throughout was just picked up and taken away. We now have 5 eggs left to hatch which she is sitting on and he is popping in every now and then to feed her - is this normal? I am wondering what to tell the various children who have so far been enjoying this... I have included a picture of it being removed yet still alive (there's some interference today so the picture is a little grainy)
