Hi Alan,
thanks for that - I think the holes in both boxes are 32mm, so I presume that a Great Tit pair could be interested in the second one as I have seen them around too but still they might clash?

Thanks once again Alan x
Doggie is spot on here. members of the tit family can be highly territorial and will not tolerate another bird nesting too nearby. You could site both boxes, but you should be prepared for only one of them being occupied. IF you had a front and back garden, you could potentially site one in each and you might have better luck.
Thanks Mrs T.
No-where else to put the boxes I'm afraid :-(
My neighbour and I have a blue tit box each in our back gardens located just 25 feet apart. Here's the twist though. Mine has been adopted by a pair of nuthatches! Amazingly my box is only 8 feet from my house and just 6 feet off the ground. It's a high end German made woodcrete box with 3 x 26mm holes. It's facing south east but would only ever get late evening sun and the holes are not in the usual path of the direction of the rain. Is this a freak nesting occurrence?
