I have several Buddlea plants and Hebes in my small garden.
This year there has been a profusion of butterflies, I only seem to see large whites, peacocks and tortoishells but lots and lots of them, there were hardly any at all last year.
I counted 22 bees on one Hebe, it is not exactly enormous at approx 2 feet square and less than 18ins high but it was in full flower and obviously the bees just loved it.
Isn't it fantastic what can happen following a few weeks of decent weather?
Yes, been a great year for Butterflies and bees and wildlife in general. We have over 2 dozen healthy Greenfinches this year after their decimation from that awful Trico disease last year
Of all creatures, man is the most detestable, he is the only creature that inflicts pain for sport, knowing it to be pain. ~ Mark Twain
