For any of you that have a dog or a cat, here is an idea.
Our dog liberates so much hair it’s frightening, each year I hang up a couple of old peanut holders filled with her hair, the birds love it (and it stops it blowing all around the garden).
Build it and they will come.

Our Pied Wagtails do similar only they take the dog hair which is caught in it.
I was also watching the Blue Tits performing acrobatics outside the window as they were collecting cobwebs from the corners.
I refilled my hangers for the third time today (the poor dog is almost bald). I’ve been watching all the birds flying off with beak full’s. Wandering round the garden I can tell which nest boxes are in use by the quantity of dog hair hanging out of the holes.
My starlings are doing a wonderful job cleaning up the bits of dead rubbish lying about on the gravel, from twigs to dead leaves. It's amazing how much they get in their beaks at any one time.
Cheers, Linda.
