Hi everyone Can anyone please help me ASAP .Have had 9 chicks in my birdbox who have left the nest today but 1 chick is still in the box parents and other chicks left over 2hrs ago .Im worried about the one who is left , will they be ok overnight??? Should I do anything ????
Thank you. I love them to bits they have nested every year for last 12 yrs but this has never happened before .
Happy ending Im happy to say, keep chick in house all night, put back in nestbox at 5.30 this morn, Mum was feeding every 10/15 mins but in the middle of thunder storm and torrential rain chick decided to fly out but only made it to the ground in my garden .I made little shelter for it and bless her the Mum continued to feed it.After couple hrs it was shivering and kept running into the rain so I put it back in box but it flew straight out.Put it in safe place under bush and watched it for another 4 hrs and after lots of attempts he finally made it to high tree with Mum at 2.30pm.He must be exhausted but happy to be with his family. Can hear him now in the tree calling Mum and shes replying lol Thank you for your help yest xxx Will try put some pics on here later xxx
They are such beautiful little things and I love the dedicated care the parents take of them, put some human parents to shame thats for sure !! Always feel sad when they go but look forward to next year.x

We also had a great thunder/lightning storm----I have NOT seen my sparrows feeding today ?? But my 2nd feeding spot---which I cannot see unfortunately--- had the usual birds feeding when I went to fill up.Starling was cross because I disturbed him tucking away in my fat mix--now with added ground sunflower seed.YUM
