For the past three years we have had swallows nesting in our garage, so leave the door and window open for them so that they have immediate access upon their return in the Spring. None have returned this year - much to our dismay. Could this be because they have not survived their migration and subsequent return, or might there be another reason? If you have any suggestions I would be pleased to know. Thanks. Edna Ogden
I wonder if it's because of the cold spring? A lot of migrants were late arriving, and when they got here there weren't many insects about, so it will take them a while to get into breeding condition, females especially. Maybe they will start to nest soon, when they are fit enough, so fingers crossed for you!
