hello, i wonder if anyone could help me find out why the great tits bird. box hole is blocked up with nesting material?
the same thing happend last year, although this year we have moved the box to a safer place away from cats.( in a holly tree).
last year when we took the box down the chicks were quite young and had all died and i am worried this will happen again.
can anyone suggest what we could do?

hi k we had a similar thing happen only it was a wrens nest we thought it was because she had built such a big nest in a small space so we enlarged the hole this year but we havent even seen a wren go near it although they have been in the garden could it be the same reason nest to big for box not much help im afraid just a sugestion pauline
Hi K,chicks often seem to die in the nest box,probably not enough insects for the number of Blue Tits and Great Tits that are around in our gardens with lots of people feeding them.
