Should nesting boxes be emptied at end of year

I know I'm a bit before the time but like to get my head straight about what I am doing. Iv started several bird boxes and one is occupied with Blue Tits. At the end of the nesting season do you clean the boxes of debris or leave it please.

The RSPB says - Nestboxes can be cleared out only between August and January (any infertile eggs remaining must be destroyed).
