What a cute story, and I have to say that it does look like a speed camera
All the better for the local residents in the area who want people to drive slowly thorough their area. Who can blame them.
Hope that the box does not get vandalised again.

Hmmm that's an idea, there are thousands of speed cameras around maybe the real ones should also be fitted with bird boxes too :-)

I saw this via Twitter last week. But I have to say you when I read the article elsewhere you would have to be an idiot to believe him. He's made it look like a speed camera to make speeding motorists slow down, not by sheer co-incidence.
Although, good for him if it does the job. But if its been vandalised it wasn't his best idea, what if it gets vandalised when birds have moved in and raising chicks?

I am inclined to agree with you. Some people do not have the intelligence or understanding to care about nesting birds at all.
That is sadly how some people behave in our society.
Hopefully we hear more about the success of the bird box in the future.

I can't imagine any self respecting bird would move in any way. It's hideous. Hardly mistaken for a speed camera really as the headline suggests as it has been made to specifically look like one.
