The Winter's Kiss

Again Winter's kiss embraces autumn's last leaves,

Once more yesterday is hidden by snowball Earth,

And nature's beauty shows for the last time once again,

That love and purity are forever,

And as the trees shed themselves bare,

Their eyes can catch but a glimpse,

And as the Wolf howls and the Barn Owl hoots,

Mother nature's ears reveal their secret songs,

Singing sweetly to the peoples of Earth,

To stop and to listen, to love and care, to respect and protect,

And this is the Winter's Kiss.

  • Beautiful, Tom.  Only sorry I missed this earlier!

  • Beautiful and meaningful words Tom, thank you for sharing.      I always think of the poem I learnt at school;  "Leisure",  by William Henry Davies    "What is this life if full of care, we have no time to stand and stare ....... "      I remember at the age of 8 years memorising it and reciting it for my father who worked as a gardener all his short life;  he loved this poem so much he wrote it in his diary as the words also have deep meaning.
