I loved the poem, and the music, but couldn't find any video's of the two together, so decided to make my own. Hope you like it, please leave a comment.
Very lovely. The music is one of my favourites.
Just found this - how lovely - the Lark is one of my favourite birds, as it reminds me of being a child in the fields playing, nearly 60 years ago, and being transfixed by the sounds. And of course the music is just wonderful.
Many thanks for posting this.
Lovely! The music I know well, it's one of my favourite pieces. I didn't know the poem at all, although I see it was the inspiration for the music.
I hear larks above me as I walk my dog in the fields, but rarely see them!
A thing of beauty is a joy forever.
oh my goodness. Thank you, Palmbay! Like Lindybird the sound of a skylark sends me right back to the fields in Kent. I have goosebumps just remembering happy times - a group of three children out most of the day in the fields.
What a lovely treat to listen and watch your video.
Thank you all for your kind comments. Not being a professional, you cannot even believe how hard it is to get your tongue around some of the exquisitely colourful phrases Ralph uses. It took many attempts and had to be done in one take. So glad you all like it as much as I do. It makes it worth the effort to bring some warmness into peoples lives.
