There’s a kite flying high’
‘Where Daddy, where?
Let me see!
But it has no string,
No tail of red ribbons
It has no one controlling its flight’
‘Ah, no my son, it needs no string
No hand controlling its flight
For it’s a kite of the air
A kite that is free’

Words as beautiful as the bird itself....
Robert
Thank you both! The words for this one struck me in the beautiful Gower, whilst I was indeed watching a Red Kite on the moorland and kites in the sky over a beach in the distance.
Not yet seen a Red Kite myself. Sounds a nice inspirational moment for you there
Yes Andrew - I have been lucky enough to see Red Kites in various locations but this one was pretty special - hope you see one in the not to distant future!
I think I'll have to try and make a trip next year to try and see some :-)
I've not seen one yet, either - but hope to one day.
Lovely poem, CALICO.
Top class when I read your poem I could see the bird in my minds eye

What I dream of aiming for Mike, when I write - chuffed it worked for you!
Lovely comment postings - thanks all - but it's the bird that's the star!
Hope you all see this beautiful creature very soon!
