Trout by Millie McKenzie aged 10
Trout live in rivers
On the rock bottom
Under the rocks they hide
Trying not to be spotted!
Cheers, Linda.

Lovely Millie. Does she still write any more poems, now that she is two years older ?
That is lovely Sparrow, as others have said, you must be a very proud grandmother. Well done Millie.
(Are you granny, grandma, nanny or something else?)
Kind regards Jane.
Thank you so much everyone. I'll pass all your comments on to her. She'll be "well embarrased". The poem was published in a special book entitled "Kicking Leaves" - a celebration of children's writing in Pennine Lancashire. She's 12 and more concerned about how her hair looks than nature at the moment, but she'll get over this teenage angst eventually. Her brother wrote a poem for a competition and that was also published but in a different book. I'll have to root it out and post it. It is hilarious.
I'm nana to both of them
Lovely poem!
Sounds like Millie should be an RSPB Wildlife Explorer if she isn't already!!!
And if she is, her poem would look great gracing the letters pages of "Birdlife" magazine - worth a try!
Good luck
Colin
