Not sure if it is an option with this forums software, but as there is meant to be an upgrade perhaps the tech people would consider adding an ignore option to the forum, which allows members to not to see posts from certain individuals for whatever reason. While it may seem like an unpleasent option, I do think it would be a good thing to add and I myself have used such an option on another forum when another member was proving to be very irritating and doing my head in. It makes things much easier in such circumstances and can avoid causing aggro.

I would first ask if one is feasible with this forum software? If so then I would have no objection to having one available.

The software is going to be updated soon Tiger.

Like Al, I would also start reading more threads again. I haven't the heart at present.
Cheers, Linda.

What a shame that forum members are discussing an "ignore button" to be added to this wonderful, humorous and generally good natured web based discussion site.
If there are issues with another member you should report them to a moderator.
Or if you simply don't wish to read the posts of a particular member, sadly I'd suggest you simply ignore them.

For advice about Birding, Identification, field guides, binoculars, scopes, tripods, etc - put 'Birding Tips' into the search box
I vote AYE too, if it's feasible
In an ideal world we'd all get along, sort out our differences when they arose and if they couldn't be sorted we'd respectfully avoid each other. Unfortunately it doesn't always work that way.
On forums it's easy for someone to systematically harrass someone else in quite subtle ways that even the most diligent moderator could miss. Adding an ignore button would simply and effectively disarm the troublemaker, and would harm no-one - the troublemaker need not even know they were being ignored.

Reading between the lines Richard it seems the last thing you should do is report it to a moderator or it seems you may come under attack from what it seems happened to Pip who even had her goodbye thread deleted although having read it did not see anything wrong in it.No definitely do not expect any help on this issue from moderators or we would already have a optional ignore button.
