Hi,
I would like some advice please. Is there a way to help a small Coot chick from being stolen by some nearby birds, watching them in a tree. There were originally four of them with their parents but every day they have been reduced to there only being one remaining. Their nest is in a pond in one of my fields. I feel a little helpless watching the brood getting less and really want this little chick to survive. I've been thinking of ways to help but I don't want to interfere because it might create more problems for them. I'm thinking it would be a shame to see the remaining chick go because we've watched them for ages waiting for their eggs to hatch.
Thanks
Jim
