I don't wish to exclude anyone so please forgive the narrow perspective here.
We have TWO types of picture contributors:
Snappers - who post mainly screenshots from live events on webcams.
Photographers - who have probably invested thousands of pounds in equipment and many hours of time to produce wonderful wildlife photographs.
The two categories have different requirements, I would think. I am in the first category.

I am dragging 'n dropping this group of snaps, which are in reverse date order, as our live action shots would be:
The above were uploaded via the Insert box file upload, with the sizes both set to 550xZero and the originals not resized.

Snaps dragged en masse, this is how they appear AFTER POSTING:
Screenshot of how the snaps appeared after I had dragged 'n dropped them but before posting:
As I have been finding it difficult to arrange those snaps into a single column and place comments ahead of each, I'm posting this now to see how it looks.

post edit, this pic is 10.1mb in my photo file yet it loaded ok, if this works without resizing then I don't need to upload to Flickr first, that's amazing. All my posts yesterday the pics from Flickr all disappeared from my posts.

Looks good to me Tony.
I upload all my photos from the PC rather than using online storage, it seems less fraught to problems and even better still, if the online source is down, there are no issues with the photo being visible to all.
Incidentally, I downsize all my photos to 1024x683 (full frame 3:2 ration), and as far as I'm aware, there are no issues in viewing. What it does do, being obviously a smaller file from the upload folder, it makes for quick uploads and for those who click on the picture, a quick turnaround to view it full screen, or close to full screen.
The wigeon below will give you an idea what to expect.
