One of the regular blackbirds in our garden has two swollen red eyes - probably infected. It looks like she’s losing her vision - and can barely see food in front of her. I think, sadly, she might not last much longer.
Any diagnosis? Could it be transmittable to other birds?

I don’t know enough about mycoplasma, if it is that, but think the rival was a bit foolish attacking it. Could come unstuck. Many years ago….almost a lifetime ago, I remember a spade being considered a humane way of ‘putting to sleep’ mangled wildlife cats left lying around. I am not recommending that though! Not sure what is quicker than that though.
