Today we were visited by this little chap. He looked a bit bedraggled as the weather wasn't great and it was only when I snapped a couple of photos and enlarged them a bit that I saw his strange (and surprisingly striking) plumage. Anyone know what (s)he is?
Hi Jonathan and welcome to the community ... definitely looks like a Robin to me but such a strange plumage ... wondering if it's a trick as it's so soaking wet but honestly never seen anything like this before!

As Wendy says, does look strange plumage but think its probably just a soggy Robbie

Definitely a soggy Robin rather than plumage abnormality.

It may be a mite problem as well potentially. I’ve seen odd looking tits with missing feathers and strange looking during nesting season. Some times mites get into the nest and can cause problems. Not fatal from what I’ve read.
