This is really a question about trying to stop a planning application on our countryside. We have skylarks breeding in a field in our village. Many brd watchers come to look at them. It seems there is a planning application in for gravel extraction in the next village that will come within two (not very large) farming fields of our village. Obviously both villages want to stop this. Is there anyway we can use the fact that skylarks are breeding to stop this abomination of our countryside?
Any help would be appreciated.
Hi Villager, and welcome. I don't have much knowledge about planning applications, but the following website may be of use.

Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.

You may have more luck if you try your local wildlife trust, the local library will probably have details of this. Most mineral extraction schemes seem to have gone into such details as flora and fauna and the archaeological details before submitting applications.

Birding is for everyone no matter how good or bad we are at it,enjoy it while you can

unfortunatly with 'workers' there is an unofficial "get rid of the 'problem" mentality regarding most species protected by law and more should be done to prosecute those that take illegal action to destoy protected habitats.
