I was innocently browsing through Twitter when the excellent Chris Packham highlighted this petition. Perhaps we can arrange for all the rabid hunting supporters to be absent from the ensuing debate.
It's currently standing at 4,970 signatures.
I'm adding a link to the petition to license driven grouse shooting even though I'd personally like to see it consigned to history. Licensing it is probably better than nothing at all.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Good morning, all. We're at 6,553 now.

See the link below from the BBC website, another example of the responsible (not) attitude of grouse estates.

Hi, I have this morning received an email with a response from the government. The text in the email looks like the same as the whitewash that was given when we reached 10,000 signatures. Not being sure why I should have received this when nothing significant has happened in relation to the petition & being wary of such things, I haven't clicked on the link in the email. Has anyone else received it? Ian
