Swans slaughtered to be eaten by Immigrants

Hi there

I had a look and cannot see this bit of news elsewhere on this thread unless I have overlooked it. So my apologies if I have.

I heard an article about the whole issue of destruction to our wildlife in the local News to me today.  I have the BBC I-player set up and it will take time for it to be available (the BBC I-player is always a bit slow after a programmes has been on)

However, I found an older article about the same issue of the Swans. I have heard about it already in the past and have similar issues close in my own area.

I am gobsmacked about this and feel quite sickened about the whole situation. It is a question of what we do about it.

This could be an interesting discussion. Of course, I have my views but anyway I will leave it up to others to start the discussion here

    Hi LRB

    Thank you for your reply

Sorry for slightly off-topic here a little with my views.

It is a difficult subject, simply to get the balance between two extreme issue - nature and people.

It is simply a very controversal subject for debate indeed.

    Anyway as mentioned here, I think that watching over our wildlife is the thing closest to our hearts and let it remain so. {thumbs up}

  • Hi LRB

I too am sorry but it is very frustrating.

May I ask if the RSPB are involved at all in this? Please believe me I am not trying to be controversial, just interested.

    Kind regards, many thanks

    Chez

You have no control over what life & people throw at you - but you have full control over how you deal with it!

  • Hi all - thanks for your understanding in the matter - obviously it's an emotive issue but we would like to keep things on track here on the Community

While we are keeping an eye on things, the RSPB is not directly involved in these cases. As criminal offences, they are dealt with by the police and we support their actions and will act in an advisory capacity as and when necessary.

    Cheers

    LRB
