Mark Averys Blog

I would encourage everyone to read Mark Averys latest blog, especially on the Red Kites. We have many Red Kites over Gibside and they are truly wonderful. However prejudice is alive and well in some quarters

Of all creatures, man is the most detestable, he is the only creature that inflicts pain for sport, knowing it to be pain.

  • Hi Judi,

Yes, Dr Avery's a top bloke. He's always putting the CA scumbags in their place! As for Richard Ignoramus, well, what a pathetic little git he truly is!

  • Hi Micky, without sounding patronising am amazed at the sort of guy you are coming from where you do am sure life cannot have been easy.Do Itake it you don't like the Ingrams chap as not sure your comment makes it clear.

    Hi Sooty,

I had no opinion either way until I read his comments regarding raptors; the man's not only a liar, he's an idiot!

  • Well I don't care what anyone says!!! I have Red Kites flying over me daily - I've never seen them attack another bird - if anything the rooks chase them off and seem to like the challenge. The RK's just shrug em off and carry  on their way.

The pleasure that I get seeing them so frequently is immense!

    Good for you Lindsey!

Unfortunately, there's a noisy, and powerful minority, who rely on old wives tales and downright lies in an attempt to demonize a variety of species, in order to justify their own morally repugnant activities. The truth, however, is there for all to see!

  • Hi Judi,

I read Mark's blog the other day about the Red Kites (I usually read it anyway, if I get a chance), it just amazes me people can have such an ignorant view on something like Red Kites.

I'm actually amazed that Ingrams was able to get away with 'printing' so much that was simply biased, mis-informed drivel.

I long to see the day when Red Kites are soaring over our house in the Midlands.
