Didn't have to go far from Glenshee ski resort to find some wildlife - in fact I found snow buntings in the car park and red grouse...well they were pretty much everywhere! Also saw red deer, a good few ravens, buzzards but alas no mountain hare! Still, the snow buntings more than made up for that!
Anyway, here are a few piccies!
First, some snow buntings,
Red Grouse,
Ravens,
And last but not least a couple of red deer!

Great photos but oh boy it does look cold.
Never seen a snow bunting or a red grouse for that matter.
I love the one of the snow bunting with his legs tucked up. He looks as though he's being propelled by a rocket.

Hi TJ,
It was pretty cold up there especially in the wind! It was the first time I'd seen snow buntings so I'm pretty happy with the day lol
Hi KatTai,
What wonderful shots, brilliantly captured. I adore the first snow bunting. He reminds me of a highboard diver!
Cold, but worth it indeed!
Cheers, Linda.

Hi Kat, great set of photo's.
That Snow Bunting looks as though he just launched himself of a Ski Slope!
Eddie the Eagle Edwards Style LOL
For those of us that are old enough to remember him! ( represented Great Britian in 1988 )

wow what wonderful pictures
KatTai, lovely set of photo's. Haven't seen a snow bunting for a few years now. Thank you.
Hi Kat
Love your pictures they are superb
Love the Raven. They have the most amazing call.
Remember Ravens form Menorca last year.
They mobbed the Red and Black Kites... as Crows do!
Snow Buntings are such endearing attractive little birds to look at.

Kathy and Dave
Just one point, I am aware that some birds show high levels of inteligence and some species of woodpecker are even able to use tools to obtain food, I am not aware of any species that are able to read, so my question is, do the Red Grouse take any notice of this sign?

I remember him, how could we ever forget our greatest ever Winter Olympian, don't think he ever received a knighthood though?
Hi KatTai - what brilliant photos, very well done.
Hi ND...... LOL!!!!!
The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!
