04/11/09 Moncreiffe Hill is one of my local hills, between Bridge of Earn and Perth, the view is of Perth and
the north.
While up there I spent half an hour or so chasing a Gold Crest who just wouldn't stay still. During this time
I snapped this Tree Creeper, It was part of a small flock of mixed birds. mostly Tits.
If the sun is bright later I will return and try again, as after taking 20 or so shots, these are the best!
those ******* little branches and twigs always in the way. Made focusing impossible.
Good enough for ID.
A flock of about eight Bullfinch also in the same area. feeding on berries. Another reason to return.
Although I had a frustrating time trying to get the right shot! It was still brilliant seeing them and smelling the Autumn wood.
John :-)
For viewing or photography right place right time is everything. I'd rather be in the right place with poor kit than have the best kit and be in the wrong place.
Unknown said: Great photos Highland Mchale. I have never been to Moncreiffe Hill but I have been to Kinnoull Hill which is not too far away. That was many years ago when I lived in Dundee.

John, I have never seen a treecreeper feeding it's young, although we do see them in our garden. They are really beautiful photographs. Thank you.
Lucky you to see the treecreeper chicks let alone photgraph them. They are lovely! What a beautiful part of the country you live in.

Wonderful to see the chicks, John, thanks for posting those.
The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!
Congratulations John - more wonderful photos. The chicks are lovely aren't they

Thanks all! I've been back today 08/11/09, very sunny day perfect for that Goldcrest Photo, sadly the goldies had other ideas. same for the bullfinch flock! Still Treecreepers around.
This was the best of todays chase!
Had a little bonus moment with these two. Praise the sun!
John, sorry neither the goldcrest or bullfinch co-operated, but great to see you saw the tree creeper again. Just love the red squirrel photos. You obviously love being behind the camera lense. It shows in your photographs.
Super shots as always John. Those squirrels are so photogenic and you are very lucky to be able to see them.
Fantastic photos John. Love the squirrels (well, I would, wouldn't I ☺)
Wow! Another great set John
