Richard, I have signed in to face book but it says video is not available / has been removed or privacy settings.
try again! I think I have now let 'everyone' see it!
Success. That really had to be worth seeing. Have never seen it for myself. The nearest I have seen is when waders are sent up and each species has it's own formation. Thanks for sharing. How long does the 'display' go on for?
Great stuff, I have seen this in other places it is Fab. no video I'm afraid, well done and thanks for sharing.
For viewing or photography right place right time is everything. I'd rather be in the right place with poor kit than have the best kit and be in the wrong place.
Whereabouts is the best place to be to see this at Fen Drayton - the video is fantastic.
Janet.
Thanks Janet!
We turned up at the 'main car park' - which isn't as un-green as it sounds... Neil was there at the RSPB information point and was incredibly helpful as always.
If you stand in the carpark facing Holywell Lake (I think it's called this) and the reed beds right in front of you, the starlings will turn up an hour or so before the sun goes down and hopefully put on a show for you. There were 5-6,000 when we were there!
Apparently more will converge on the site up until Christmas, after which, numbers will start decreasing again.
We will definitely be going back!
Richard
