Leighton Moss is a fantastic place to visit. I sadly only had four hours(at the end of the day) to get around and light conditions where poor. What a big place several hides, all well made and maintained. There had been a number of sightings of Bittern that day and it seemed in every hide there was a conversation about peoples sightings earlier that day! Not me :-( I missed it all. I will return, I made note of the train station close by and I will look at B+Bs nearby so I can spend some time there, I think it needs all the time one can spare.
Pochard M + F
Shoveler
Little Egret ^ and two Great Egret (very far away!)
For a short visit, I had a great time many more shots! As well as planing a longer stay, I will call in anytime I pass (just off the M6 and better than any service station)
Hope this is helpful to someone

For viewing or photography right place right time is everything. I'd rather be in the right place with poor kit than have the best kit and be in the wrong place.
Wonderful photos again John. That is too far for us to visit, I fear, so thank you for sharing it with us.
The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!
Excellent selection there John!! Had Leighton Moss on my list of places to go for a long time now... Really must get there one day!
Love that egret in flight shot! Gorgeous!!
