The Lower Test Nature Reserve In Southampton

A great place to go, so much to see. If any of you are down in this neck of the woods it's well worth a visit. The hides give a good panoramic view of the southern part of the reserve and good views. Marsh Harrier and Osprey, both of which are regular passage migrants have been seen here, Although I haven't been lucky enough to see them yet! There is a  a good selection of waders during the spring and autumn with Green and Common Sandpipers, Greenshank, Black tailed Godwits and Little Ringed Plover being regular and Wood Sandpiper and Garganey recorded annually. I saw a water Rail for the first time ever last week.I'ts also a great place to spot a Kingfisher....I believe it's one of the best Kingfisher spots in the country. Redshank, Snipe, Lapwing, Reed, Sedge and Cetti's Warbler all breed here.

 Thanks for looking
