Not sure if this is the best place to put this post but couldn't think of a better one!
Last night our local news said the RSPB was planning to build a new sea bird centre at Bempton Cliffs (E Yorks) but so far haven't seen anything on the RSPB news pages about this.
Does anyone know any more details?

Hi Cartimandua... that sounds a really exciting project - provided the local paper isn't jumping the gun. I don't recall seeing anything about it in the RSPB newsletters I receive but I will have a re-read through them and get back to you.

Edited:- I have just had a quick look back through as far as April and couldn't see anything. Perhaps one of the Staff might have some info. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!
interesting - it was on the BBC local news last night, they even spoke to the local RSPB site manager, so strange we can't find out any more atm!
Hi again... not sure if this is of any use but there is a "sort of" reference to something in the section headed "Leading By Example..."

Hmm, they also say later on in the link that they are hoping to develop the facilities in the next five years... Seems to be a case of 'watch this space'!

I wonder if any of the admin will have any info to share with us?

Well done Teresa, puzzle solved!
Well done Teresa
I read the link with interest. It looks although the there are going to be a few changes coming our way at Bempton. To me that what places the importance of being a member of the RSPB to support ventures like this one, and at other reserves around the country.
In the future we might end up having a Bempton area added to this Forum and we will be watching birds from the CCTV coverage at the reserve
I loved the visits to Montrose Reserve in Scotland and it has CCTV's dotted about the Reserve for viewing all the Wildlife around Montrose Basin and it was of great interest to see all the latest findings. One of my own favourite spots in Scotland.
So will be watching to see how things progress in the near future with this other venture.
Regards
Kathy and Dave
Thanks for the link - interesting! Perhaps the main RSPB site (or the next magazine) might tell us more also at some point?
