Visit To Isle of Mull

At the beginning of May we set of from home near the Suffolk Coast to drive up to Oban for the ferry to Mull on the West Coast of Scotland for a weeks wildlife watching. A distance of 475miles so we broke the journey up stopping at various National Trust & RSPB sites which had been on our places to visit list for some time.

We arrived in Tobermory late Sat afternoon and settled into our house and gawped at the view on a somewhat grey & misty day.

Our first trip was out to Staffa and Lunga for the Puffins.

The entrance of Fingal's Cave. Needless to say the boat was playing Mendelsohn music as we approached. An amazing geological formation and an interesting walk/climb to get the the cave entrance.

There were a few Eiders about the rocks as well.

Next it was onto Lunga and the Puffins, my favourite sea bird.

Finally for today,  a Hooded Crow among some Bluebells.

The next day we had a day out with a local ranger to look for eagles......
