A wet afternoon at Lackford Lakes

Based on which part of Suffolk was going to get the least rain, we plumped for a visit to Lackford in the west of the county.  It was a good call:

A greylag goose gives me its usual friendly look!

There's always one trying to stand out.

Two's company.

I love seeing herons fly past.  Any heron will do ....... and this grey heron fits the bill nicely.

'Where have all the fish gone?' wonders the cormorant.

The kingfisher sits and looks innocent!

It spots its audience and decides to come closer, only to play coy .........

....before taking pity on us and posing properly.

Finishing off with a bird I always turn around for when I hear it flying -  a magnificent mute swan!

Enjoy, as always.
