Following on from my post on a visit to Bempton at the weekend, here are a few photos from the Sunday which we spent at Flamborough Head Nature reserve. Fortunately we didn't have the 'pollen' bug issue there!
Plenty of birds to see (kittiwakes, fulmars, puffins and gulls again) but more of a binocular job as most were too far for photos! So these photos are mainly landscapes and insects!
A few of general views
Not forgetting the iconic landmark!
Not great photos as they were some way out, but a first for me! Common scoter:
Lots of small skippers, and this one allowed me to get very close with the macro setting
A hoverfly (Volucella pellucens I think)
Some eggs, anyone know what laid them please?
Juv kittiwake (love those markings! If only they kept them!)
And some grey seals
Well worth a visit!

Aren't they just! I hadn't realised just how much so until that weekend!

If there was a beauty contest for juvenile birds I'm sure they would win by miles!

Lovely pics Marjus, i love the rock formations around those cliffs. Love those seals aswell :)
Thanks Carl!
I think the eggs on the grass seed head are actually adult bean ticks or castor bean ticks, they climb grasses to wait for passing hosts and keep all of their limbs and so on hidden against the plant. I've removed a few from children and pets over the years.
Thank you Simon! Had completely forgotten about this thread! I now know that they're Drinker moth eggs, so quite harmless! Thanks for your input though! :-)
