At the same location were I was taking the Ring Ouzel shots.
A Woodcock appeared with three chicks.
This again is a first for me, I have seen numerous adult Woodcocks but never a brood.
The photo's aren't great due to the distance, but never the less this is quite a rare spot so I was really chuffed.
I didn't manage to get all three chicks with the adult, she lead them to the top of a ridge in an old quarry.
She flew to the top and then called them, they were in the early stages of flying and took several attempts to make it.
Great to see and one that I won't forget.

That really is a success story for you Buzzard. Mum and triplets. Brilliant. I have seen adult birds but never ever seen just one chick.
Oh wow, I've never even seen a Woodcock let alone chicks. Quite an experience for you too!
Thanks for sharing the photos :o)
What a wonderful sight!! Good for you Buzzard!

Nice one Buzzard! I would love to have been there.
For viewing or photography right place right time is everything. I'd rather be in the right place with poor kit than have the best kit and be in the wrong place.
