I am still giddy, what a place! must go back soon.
I have so many photo's, I will post more here and Flickr page as I get to sort them. Hope you enjoy!
If you ever get the chance, GO!!!
John :-)
For viewing or photography right place right time is everything. I'd rather be in the right place with poor kit than have the best kit and be in the wrong place.
Fantastic photos John seems like an extraordinary place. I love puffins they are so entertaining. Thanks for sharing - look forward the the flicker link. I have actually joined the 21st century and opened a flicker account, only rubbish on at the moment though

You have done it again John!
They are some of the best photos I have ever seen of Puffins Gillimots and Razorbills I have ever seen.
Well done sir and thankyou for sharing them .

If its no fun Yer no doin it right!
WOW indeed, John. Absolutely fabulous photos. Who needs to go abroad when there's wildlife like that on our own doorstep.
Although I'd heard of the Isle of May I'd always assumed it was off the north coast of Scotland - near the Castle of May the late Queen Mother's summer pad. So when I Googled it I was quite surprised to find it was just off the Firth of Forth. My ignorance I'm ashamed to say.
How do you get there? Do they run day trips from somewhere on the Fife coast.
Regards TJ

Thanks for kind comments, The boat sails from Anstruther on the Fife coast. daily except Tuesdays, times vary with tide and landing is weather dependent. I have been told that many people have been and not landed but this was my first attempt and we landed. the circuit of the island when leaving was cancelled due to sea conditions and the return was a wee bit choppy!!! That said I have a touch of sun burn from my three hours on land!
Awesome photos, as someone else wrote on another thread, puffins are so photogenic. The razor bill is a superb photo and the close up of the puffin is absolutely gorgeous. They are all fantastic photos and I'm so glad you had such a great time. It sounds like an amazing place and definitely one to visit.
I look forward to seeing more!
Kind regards Jane.
Thanks John. Fabulous photographs. I love the lonesome puffin and the brilliant capture of the razor bill. Sounds a really worthwhile trip.
Hi John
