Hi everyone,
Weather permitting and public transport getting us as close to a reserve as possible,we have planned to get to as many reserves near us In Somerset as we can.Yesterday It was another warm sunny day so we decided to visit Catcott Nature Reserve. From the bus stop we had a walk of around forty five minutes very nice too,we saw two Birds of prey unsure what they were.As we got closer to the reserve we saw a Stoat I don't know what It was eating.
STOAT
Then we went Into the first hide where we saw Swans, various Ducks,Herons.
LAPWINGS
CANADA GEESE AND GREYLAG GEESE
Then we walked around a small nature trail, where we heard various birdsong. On our way out we saw Herons and Swans.
HERONS
On the way back I took this photo can anyone ID If this Is a NIGHTINGALE because of the pale ring around the eye.
Many other birds were flying to and fro Swifts,Chaffinch,Blackbirds lots I have no Idea what they were, but nice to see.As time goes by I hope to ID more.
