As i mentioned in my previous post, I went back to the River Ribble on Saturday to see the Sand Martins again, that at present are nesting in burrows high up the river bank cliffs. Once again I was not disappointed, and spent a few hours photographing and watching these delightful agile birds.This visit I wanted to try and get some good flight shots which isnt easy at the speed they fly, but with a little patience I got some ok shots. A great spectacle and well worth looking out for, there are more pictures on my site http://walksnwildlife.blogspot.com/

..................................................................................Hi Gary,

HI Gary
More wonderful pictures of the Sand Martins, and something to be proud of! {big smile}
These are the best set of photos I have ever seen of Sand Martins yet to be honest {another big smile}
They are so fragile and so beautiful at the same time.
Never tire of them, and no bird lover ever would.
Regards
Kathy and Dave
And you call them "OK SHOTS". I can realy get to not liking you Gary .. lol

Oh Gary, they are absolutely fabulous photographs. You caught them on the way 'in' . Fantastic.
Thanks Al, I guess they did turn out ok, but I get a bit too self critical, but glad you like them, thanks
Hi Brenda, catching them on the way in is possible, catching them coming out impossible, glad you like them, thanks.
Hi Blackbird,
you are right they are stunning little birds, and as keen as I am on photographing birds, on this occasion the camera got put down a fair bit whilst I just watched and admired them.
You are very welcome Gary and thankyou for sharing such amazing photos there mate.
You have a real gift there Please keep them comming.
Stunning photos, absolutely brilliant! Congratulations :-))

Nice one Puffin! they really are boss, very jealous indeed.
For viewing or photography right place right time is everything. I'd rather be in the right place with poor kit than have the best kit and be in the wrong place.
