Pics of our visit to RSPB Ham Wall.

Yesterday we visited one of our local reserves, after a forty five minute bus ride and an hour walk to the reserve we were not disappointed. As we approached the reserve we saw four Buzzards overhead that was a good start. We started our walk along one of the trails we were walking behind a man and his dog .The dog kept on digging out the molehills,so funny to watch.

As we walked further around the trail,we were lucky to hear the Bitterns making their booming sounds,we then saw an Owl swoop low down a Tawny I think. We could hear various birds singing and calling along the route,we then went Into some hides and I took these pics.

We then walked across the road to the Shapwick Heath National Reserve ,where we heard various birdsong. On our way to one of the hides we saw a Squirrel digging In the water where It plucked out some acorns, we think he must have burried them there.

BLACK- TAILED GODWIT and various ducks

Then on our way back to the starting point we couln't believe our luck,I took a few pics then we asked a guy with his scope what It was and he said Great White Egret.

That was a great end to a great day out.Well worth the hour long walk back to the bus stop and bus ride home.
