Fox at the farm

Spotted a fox while walking around the farm the other day, she was curled up in the grass at the side of a burn at about 10am and disappeared into the trees and shrubs along the burn when I she spotted me.  Tai never even noticed the fox at all, which is a surprise as she loves rolling in their poo!  Looked like a pretty animal too, really nice colour!  Hopefully I'll see her again :-)

  • I don't want to start a controversial debate KatTai but I love to see foxes. I am glad Tai didn't find the poo, as I must admit the dogs can smell so awful after this exercise. I used to hate the smell in the car when I would be driving home after our walks.

    I love to see foxes too, they are as much as a part of the countryside as the birds and butterflies are!  It's the first time I've actually seen a fox there, though there are plenty of signs of them about that often end up on the dog *yuck!*

  • How lovely! I know they're about in Shropshire as have seen a few but very rarely I have to say! More often than not, it's been a fleeting glimpse at night. I would love to have a good 'daylight' sighting!

    Probably my best yet was at the local nature reserve early one morning last summer when I was alone in the hide!

    Oddly I've never seen a fox at night, only during the daylight hours!  Still don't see them very often though and no chance of getting near them, once they know someones there, that's it they're off!

    Hi Kat

    Foxes are beautiful animals and I enjoyed seeing them in Aberdeenshire while i lived up there.  We saw a beautiful large dog Fox more than one occasion close to our cottage and they are stunning creatures to see close up and personal.

    Their oddball calling at nights was quite strange as we lived out in the sticks and had little in the way of people living near us.  So it was all Fox calls and Tawny Owl calls at certain times of the year - a great set for a ghost movie.

    Never knew that dogs like to roll in their poo! {eek}

    Regards
