This morning my collection of goldfinches brought two cousins with them - 2 lovely redpolls. I did have one about 3 weeks ago but haven't seen him since. He is now back, with a mate. You will have to believe me that his mate is a redpoll as he/she was hiding behind the feeder. I was so excited I choked on my cornflakes, and was very miffed that we had to go out all day to a family gathering and leave them behind!
Hope you can see the pictures!
Cheers, Linda.

ohhh, I can't see them, I'll have to have a look later, if the men in the white coats haven't dragged me away LOL!!!, I'll cross everything for you in the hope they will return tomorrow, there's still been no sign that my Goldie has been back at all, but driving through the village today about a mile up the road I saw a flock of them, they flew across the road in front of me, I'll have to lay a trail of nyjer seed back to my house I think.
There is a sufficiency in the world for man's need but not for man's greed.
I can see the pictures. If they don't come back for you I'll reload them, but now I have to go and eat and have a glass or 3 of wine.
Sorry about your goldies Bishy - but at least you know there is a charm in the area. I hope those men in white coats don't come knocking on your door - I sent them away from mine!!!!!

Good plan BBB. I had never seen any in my area before mine arrived, but all gardens are enclosed and out of sight a rear of houses where i live.
I'll keep everything crossed for you
PS still can't see your pictures Linda
I can see your photos! It must be my lucky day, lol!
Congratulations on your Redpolls coming back Sparrow :o) They are pretty little birds, but I imagine they're the sort of birds we all would overlook with a glancing look. Have to confess I do that a lot myself when I'm busy.
I hope they come back - I want to see more of them :o)

Thanks Bramble, yes I too had never seen them in the area, I had never seen one in my life before now, but seeing those down the road today made me realise I have probably been surrounded by them all my life, I just had never noticed, since taking an interest in birds I've been amazed at all the different species of birds I'm surrounded by , I'm starting to recognize a lot of birds when I'm out walking, I just didn't take any notice before.I have found it a real eye opener.
oohhhh Sparrow I can see the pictures now, there brilliant, could have got your Goldies to say cheese, weren't they talking.
Hi Sparrow
Nice photo of your redpolls,I have never seen one of those In my garden.The only colourful birds that visit me,are Robin,Bluetit,Coaltit,Great tit ,I did once have a male chaffinch but haven't seen him this year yet,only the female.Last year a Red legged partridge landed in my garden so that was colourful and really unexpected must have lost it's way!

Still can't see the pics and I have tried logging off and on again to see if i get a different server. Needless to say it didn't work
Cannot see your pictures at the moment so I will pop back onto this thread, and have another look or two.
Fabulous to have a Redpoll in your garden - never had them in my garden yet {sad}
You are so lucky to have that chance to see one so close up and personal, I hope he/she will come back for another visit or three now the feeders have been discovered in your garden area.
Enjoy your glass or 3 of wine tonight - had my wine treat last night {smile}
Regards
Kathy and Dave
