Not seen one this far North (N.Yorkshire)for a few days now and presumed they had all headed South. There was a recent article saying that some Swifts had arrived very late and because of the weather and shortage of food they had not bred and set off back very early. On the edge of moors recently we noticed that the Swallows were looking like they were getting ready for the off whereas a nearby colony of House Martin were feeding their second brood.
