Painted ladies do migrate south in the autumn!

Butterfly Conservation and their research partners have figured out the long standing puzzle of what happens to painted ladies in the autumn, have a look at the article here, apparently they return south but at a much higher altitude making use of favourable cimatic conditions to aid their return journey.

Has anyone seen any this year, I don't think there has been a huge amount not like a few years ago when we had a huge influx.
