Royal patronage versus sustainability

I see that from late August, into September, over a period of 17 days, the Queen, her family and friends have slaughtered nearly 4,500 red grouse on moors in Scotland.

It is no wonder that, if red grouse are being forced into such high density stocking, disease and parasitic infestation is rife.  Equally, it underlines why the estates are illegally slaughtering birds of prey and killing thousands of mountain hares.

Why is the RSPB hanging on to its royal patronage?  These people are the very antithesis of what the RSPB's aims and intentions are and should be.

Not to overlook the fact that her beaters were provided by the Army in Scotland - at the taxpayers' expense, rather than from the £millions we already provide her with.
