Got this at Abberton Reservoir yesterday - it was hanging about with a load of black-headed gulls. Colouring-wise it looks like a herring gull but it looks a bit benign to me - I'm used to them looking full of attitude, even the youngsters. Did I just catch one having an uncharacteristically quiet day or is it something else?
Of course if I'm just having a very funny five minutes please feel free to tell me!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
