For a while the pond water was amazingly clear. Suddenly it's got cloudier, and when I looked in today there are thousands of tiny spherical creatures swirling around. I got a clear bucket and scooped some out to try to get a photo.

I also took some underwater footage in case that was any clearer. There seem to be larger black dots in some of the objects - more developed?
Other, slightly poorer footage
Anyone have any ideas?!?
A closed mouth gathers no foot.
I have the same little things in my pond and tried finding out what they are. It seems that they are Daphnia. wikipedia- genus of small planktonic crustaceans, 0.2–6.0 mm (0.01–0.24 in) in length. Daphnia are members of the order Anomopoda, and are one of the several small aquatic crustaceans commonly called water fleas because their saltatory swimming style resembles the movements of fleas.
Yes, they are Daphnia. Much appreciated food for various pond predators, such as newts.
