Could anyone help identify this bird please?

Hi there,

I live in the Bristol suburbs and over the last few weeks I’ve started hearing a new bird call don’t recognise.I will try and record it but until then I liken it to the stereotypical sound of a train horn when going into a tunnel. It has two medium length notes: one low and one high. We have Goldfinch, Robins, Blue Tits and Great Tits in the area but I haven’t found anything to suggest it’s one of these, could someone help please?

Hi Owen, nothing immediately springs to mind. I think it's quite hard to describe a bird call so if you can get a recording that would help enormously.

Hi Tony,

Haha thanks for your commitment to this. Listening to the video it closely resembles the train at 40 seconds but the call is a bit slower but otherwise very similar. For the record I don't live near an active train line. :)

Sorry, no wiser I'm afraid. The train at 40 secs only gave a single tone, the one immediately after was a dual tone. See if you can get a recording otherwise I think we are going to struggle.
