Hi All, I took an executive decision & decided to amalgamate the Butterfly & Moth threads which may make it easier to find if it's used more!
These are the old threads from 2019 Beautiful butterflies https://community.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/f/all-creatures/200195/beautiful-butterflies-2019#pifragment-4285=1
& Mostly Moths https://community.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/f/all-creatures/198118/mostly-moths-2019/1273216#pifragment-4285=1

Overnight trap threw up a total of SEVEN male Muslin Moths!!!! Plus this beauty which I think is The Lychnis
BBYU caterpillar eating & pooing well & a new incumbent in the form of a brown pupa which neighbour dug up whilst weeding, a wait 'n see job?
Unknown said: Must be tempting to go completely bonkers with your new found freedom on Monday, trying to go to as many places as possible all at once!!
I did think of going off to do a moth trap at 00h05 on the 11th, just because I can, but mybe leave it till Monday night. The weather is against doing much but may just go out on a few daytrips with a sandwich!! Certainly no socialising for a long time, still debating whether to do "normal" shopping, it's all a bit traumatising. I feel safe now & don't want to do anything to jeopardise it.
We still have a daily walk for an hour & today was a real WOW factor. This beauty was hanging onto a piece of grass, sticking out on the road about 200m from the houes. It's a Willowherb Hawkmoth & only ever seen one once before which was already dead.
As any passing car on this narrow lane would have killed it, I transferred the grass to a safer place away from the edge.
