I used to see the Cinnibar at my local reserve which is sadly closed for the duration! I had a caterpillar to rear one year courtesy of a dear friend ( you know who you are), called him Jacob but he escaped & never did find him ... the caterpillar that is! Lol

Lovely moths Wendy, will have a quick look for your caterpillar later, it's looks vaguely familier. Our weather has perked up again & so out with the camera the last few days (well for an hour).
A lovely fresh Swallowtail
& a Painted lady in the garden
Keep safe all. We'll be allowed out from monday but won't be meeting up with pals for a long time, will be nice to go bird-watching & moth trapping in the woods again though.
Best wishes

Very pleased to see a Green Veined White in the garden, as haven't seen one for quite a while.
It seemed to like the Herb Robert which not much else uses but self-seeds alot.
My caterpillar been ID'd by Richard Lewington as 'likely' Broad bordered Yellow Underwing which pupates at 45-50mm & emerges in June ... not had one of those before!
