Starting with a first for me ... Sparrowhawk in neighbour's garden here in quarry, only ever seen a seemingly lost youngster many years ago!
Grabbed ID vid footage through d/glazed door, then battery died & by time I'd replaced it to go outside for better res a delivery driver stopped next door & frightened the bird off!! grrrrrr
Hope it's a one-off for the sake of my Spadger horde!

A female Black Redstart tried to build a nest on this broom hung in the shed yesterday
It was obviously a hopeless task, so we put up a shelf there & put the moss on it, but not seen her back yet.
Best wishes

Some people will try anything to get out of doing the sweeping!

Sorry Ann, with everything that's going on I misunderstood although I did write it down correctly on my birthday list ! Been a long day today and we've not been out at all, not even for a walk as trying to do our bit to keep indoors. I defrosted some lamb chops so had a nice dinner instead - without wine again ! Definitely looks like restrictions will last longer than anticipated but can understand that if we are to ensure this virus doesn't rear its ugly head again too soon after the all clear. Taking one day at a time as the thought of even weeks is pretty depressing. Good job we have our feathered friends we can view out of the window. Be better when we move to the apartment as ducks fly in and out so will have some entertainment as long as they don't all end up on the balcony LOL

A belated Happy Anniversary, Hazel. Glad you are looking after the old boy so well. Did you just have to settle for Ruby Chard on this occasion?
Red wine is about the only thing that's keeping me going at the moment. A relative on his way home from London to Wales was kind enough to drop me off a few basics to keep me going.
