Well here goes, for better or worse, another year of moths. The old thread is here https://community.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/f/all-creatures/196070/mostly-moths-2018/1221500#1221500
To start us off a couple of silly ones that came to greet the first trap of the year on the night of the 1st to 2nd january. It was around 6-7°C all night & frosts ever since so I gave it a go.
A Double-striped Pug
& same one closed
& White Speck
Nothing earth-shattering, but a start!
Best wishes
Hazel in Southwest France
I did think about posting it off to you, but our post is so unreliable. We had 2 Xmas cards in mid January that were posted in early december! Fingers crossed you'll get your own this year.
A few more from the recent traps, a Spring Usher
Shoulder Stripe
Hebrew Character
That'll do, don't want to overload the sytem. I've put these in at 550 width & shrunk the size to around 400kb before hand. They look OK to me.

Have re-sized this one H ...
Was rolled up in Buddleia leaves but not pupating ... they make this feeding tent apparently, if it's what I think it is?? Have put Cotoneaster leaves in pot too!
Well our Moth book is finally out. It's for sale at the moment in the Natural History Museum at La Rochelle, but you have to go in person!! This is the link to the co-Authors site with a few photos of it so I can bask in the glory! LOL

It weighs in around 2,2 Kg & represents 5 years hard labour, with no time off for good behaviour. I'm now working on the update.
This beauty popped in a few nights ago
It's beauty is beyond belief, the texture is like velvet so you want to stroke it (the moth not the book)!
